Farndon United kings again
(Back to sport) Farndon United kings againFarndon United were crowned champions of the Newark Football Alliance for the second time in three seasons when they secured the one point required with a 3-3 draw at nearest rivals Coddington. Rhys Lewis and Steve Carty had put Farndon 2-1 up, Chris Self replying for the the home side before Coddington were reduced to ten men with Gary Tivey being shown red for two bookable offences. It says much about the men in orange that they pressed on to take a deserved lead through Ian Wade and Scott Walker but the final act was left to substitute Ali Longdon whose headed goal five minutes from time not only restored parity but sent the trophy back to Farndon. reporter - Mick Bradley
