FOOTBALL PREVIEW - SATURDAY 26 / 27 APRIL
GRANTHAM LEAGUE
It's cup final day and our two local sides clash head on at Collingham 6.30pm kick off. It will be interesting to see the line-ups. Will RHP stick with the kids and will Balderton Old Boys be at full strength. My hunch is that RHP will come out on top in a match that will be well worth the effort of a Saturday evening trip to Collingham.
CMFL
MIDWEEK RESULT OLLERTON TOWN 1 – 0 NEWARK FLOWSERVE
Who will be Newark's top club? Last season Flowserve won the bragging rights last season and they have five matches to overhaul the seven-point advantage Newark have. Flowserve play their last home match of the season on Saturday against a Yorkshire Main side that should finish in the top six. A point is the best the works team can hope for.
SUNDAY
NEWARK ALLIANCE PREMIER
MIDWEEK RESULTS FISKERTON 3 – 3 NEWARK TOWN
FARNDON 1 – 0 CASTLE BARGE
•Farndon need two points to be champions but if any team can stop them it's BG Hawtonville, a tough match at Devon Park but by Sunday lunch Farndon will be crowned as Alliance top dogs.
•Fiskerton need one point to be positive of staying in the Premier Division, a lot depends on how RHP approch the match after Saturday's cup final.
•After predicting Collingham's first league victory last week I think they will come back from Wheatsheaf with another three points.
•Wins for both Willie Hall finalists in the two remaining matches.
DIVISION ONE
•Match of the morning is on Balderton Paying Fields, if Holy Trinity win they are promoted, if Chesters win they are in the driving seat. One not to be missed.
•Sutton to win the battle of the bottom two and Flowserve to get back to back victories in the other matches.
DIVISION TWO
•EBS Shelford should retain top spot while AC Grove and The Villa to get maximum points.
DIVISION THREE
•Only one match in this Division RHP A must beat Laxton to keep up the pressure on Coddington, will there be a few hang overs from Saturday.
SAM ARNOLD CUP FINAL
•The first all Division One final should go the way of favourites Barkstone but Gunthorpe should remember this the year of the underdog. My bet is the cup will go to the carrot crunchers but it will be close.
