Witness appeal to robbery in Newark
A disabled man was left needing hospital treatment after a robbery in Newark. Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
The incident occurred at 12:45 am on Sunday 21st June on Baldertongate.
The 42-year old victim was walking home from the town centre after a night out, when he was approached by a white man, who proceeded to punch him in the face, knocking the victim to the ground.
The offender made off with the victims wallet and mobile phone.
Detective Constable Mike Broddell of Newark CID said: "This is an extremely nasty, unprovoked attack which left the victim with a badly broken nose. We are trying to track the driver of a Citroen Xsara Picasso which drove past the scene at the same time of the offence as this driver may have witnessed the incident and have valuable information to assist the investigation."
The offender is described as a white man, wearing a white top, dark coloured trousers and white trainers.
Please contact Newark CID on 01636 605999 extension 7631 or Crimestoppers, free and anonymously, on 0800 555 111 if you were the driver of the Citroen Xsara Picasso or have any information relating to this robbery.
