Newark & Sherwood take netball titles

On Saturday 13 June, Winthorpe Primary School from Newark & Sherwood won the High Five netball title in the third competition of the 2009 East Midlands Airport Nottinghamshire Youth Games.

Competing against seven of Nottinghamshire’s districts, the team took the county title, just pipping the Gedling team from Burton Joyce Primary  School which came in second.  Broxtowe’s Eskdale Primary team took the bronze medal.

In the Year 7 competition, the Broxtowe team came out champions.

The final tallies are as follows:

High 5 (Year 5/6 Competition)

1st                   Newark and Sherwood: WinthorpePrimary School

2nd                  Gedling: Burton Joyce Primary School

3rd                   Broxtowe: Eskdale Primary School (Chilwell)

The next competition for this year’s Youth Games will be hockey which takes place on Saturday 27 June at Kingsway Park, Kirkby-in-Ashfield
