Notfast report

NOTFAST

Stuart Ashley was in Yorkshire to take up The Windmill Way Challenge and walked the 26miles in 6h42m.  Route finding required not only skill but imagination but Stuart still made it in a fast time and kept back enough energy to run 10K on Sunday.
We usually have a trio of lady tri-athletes who compete together but only a duo this week competed in The Woodhall Spa Triathlon.  They enjoyed the outdoor pool in the sunshine for the swim section at this event, which added to their pleasure.  Liz Walton finished in 1h27m47s followed by Liz Fleuty in 1h29m53s despite an early puncture (the puncture was, I hope, in her bike tyre, not in Liz).

NOTFAST like to support local events and excelled at The Long Bennington Fun Run by sending twenty members along to enjoy this annual fund raising event.  Charities supported were Action for Children, Diabetes UK and Forget-Me Not day centre Grantham.  It was a fine day and a good turnout of runners including lots of children in the 5K run.  Andy Watts also ran the 5K in 42m33s with his two bionic hips.
The rest of us ran 10K with varying degrees of seriousness and success.

Mike Bullock 39m15s, Noel Henderson 43m51s, Nick Smith 44m32s, Dave Taylor 45m38s, David Gill 45m40s, Martin Dickenson 46m32s, Darren Appleton 47m03s, David Baker 47m50s, Dick Brumby 49m57s, Andy Pritchett 51m03s, Diane Thorpe 52m44s, Kate Fisher 52m56s, Colin Green 54m52s, Bob Oakham 55m28s, Stuart Ashley 58m22s, Jill McIntyre 58m51s, Claire Moyes 58m51s, Mary Freer 65m04s and Kath Ashley 68m35s.

Thanks are due to Jill Oakham for collecting all the names and times of our runners.

Later in the afternoon most of us returned to Diane’s house for a post London Marathon celebratory BBQ which was enjoyed by all.
Lyn and Chris McDonnell had travelled to Hinckley for the bigger challenge of the hot and hilly half marathon.  Lyn finished in 1h58m53s and Chris in 1h39m27s before he rushed off to see his football team in action while Lyn enjoyed a well earned rest.
