NNYL news

The NNYFL is looking very strong for the forth coming season with new clubs joining the NNYFL from Colsterworth U13, Watham on the wolds (Melton Mowbray) u11, Lincoln Moorlands u12, AC Bridgford u15 and Marshall's of Gainsborough also at under 15 this team is managed by our old mate Gary Cooke (you remember Gary he was in the loosing Newark Town Council side that came runners up in a cup final many years ago!!)

The really great news as you can probably see from the above information is that the NNYFL are running an u15's league this year for the first time in two years which is great news!

All age group divisions are very strong but if you know of a team that is 11 aside + we can still accommodate them providing that certain criteria is met (welfare officer, working towards charter standard etc). If you are interested then please go to the NNYFL web site nnyfl.co.uk and follow the contact links.

We also have a new referee's Secretary one with bags of experience in Richard Barker, anyone wishing to go on a referee's course should go to the Nott's FA web site and follow the links there are courses on during the summer holidays which is open to all boys and girls aged 14+ with one being staged in Collingham. We would love to have you on board.

The season will commence first Saturday in September which is the 4th.

We are now waiting to see how many teams have registered with us that are charter standard for this season we are hoping to be awarded charter standard league status which has a requirement of 60% with the award and with a lot of clubs actively working towards this we are hopeful that we will be awarded this honour prior to the season commencing which would be great news.

That's about it for now for the NNYFL, We have further news to rejoice in Newark as a third former NNYFL player  has been awarded a scholarship and the second at Nottingham Forest Patrick Bamford former Muskham Cougars player joins second year scholar Daniel Meadows at the club very well done to Patrick from all within the NNYFL. Frazer has settled in well in Lincoln City's youth team with two friendlies played to date a 2-0 win over Lincoln Moorlands under 19's team and a 3-2 defeat to Doncaster Rovers youth team, his next friendly is tomorrow evening (Tuesday) against Sleaford Town's first team at Sleaford. That should be interesting!
