Management Changes

Newark Town’s CMFL Team will have new look management next season following the decision of Paul Ellison to stand down as Assistant Manager. Rupert Thomas, who has again been asked to continue as Manager, will be joined by Tony Joynes as his Assistant and Bob Shaw as Club Coach. Kevin O’Neill will continue as Reserve Team Manager.

The Club’s General Manager, Gary Johnson, paid tribute to the hard work done by Paul over the past five seasons in his roles as Reserve Team Manager and then as Assistant to Rupert at both Reserve and First Team level. An excellent clubman it was hoped that Paul would still have some role to play within the Club allowing for his new family commitments.

Gary also said that Tony Joynes knowledge of the local non-league football scene would be an asset to the Club and, as someone who played a major part in the Club’s renaissance seven years ago there was no doubting his commitment.

These changes again demonstrate Town’s determination to reach the next level of the National League System.
