Newark Town have announced that Paul Ellison has stepped down from his role as assistant manager for their Saturday side. He will be replaced by ex manager Tony Joynes, also rejoining the management team is Bob Shaw. More on this story in tonight’s All Sports Show.
Also in Football, Central Midlands League club Grantham Rangers who included a number of Newark players among their ranks have folded, the reason being cited, a lack of back room staff.
It’s all good news from Newark Judo Club, the adult training nights are gathering momentum with ten new adult judoka enjoying the Tuesday 8:15 to 9:30 session. The juniors are also enjoying their judo and have recently had a series of gradings,
James Dellar, who represented the club in our studio now wears an orange belt and should be very proud of himself having done very well in his grading.
On the 10th of April, Notts Judo ran a competition called the Redbelt Rumble, which was open to all County players novice to 3rd mon, this was a chance for our lower grades to test there fighting skills. Harry Jenkins flew the flag for Newark and returned with a well earned bronze medal.
On the 20th June Newark hope to have a some players entering the Nottingham Junior (u16) Open, which will be taking place at the Nottingham Wildcats Arena, spectators are welcome at £3.00 adults, kids go free. Weighing in at 9:15 fighting will start at about 10:00 .
If you are interested in taking up Judo just go along to the Grove Sports Centre any Tuesday at 7.00pm, you will be made very welcome.
