Regis Sugden wins EFK Junior Title
Regis Sugden followed in the footsteps of his Father Dean and his older brother Chad to become the 3rd World Champion kick boxing champion in the Sugden household. Regis overcame the challenge of his Welsh opponent Patrick Hill to lift the EFK World Title belt at Kelham Hall on Saturday evening.
14 year old Regis’s opponent Patrick was 2 years older and did not just come to Newark to make up the numbers and was expecting to go back to Wales with the championship belt. In a very close fight it was difficult to judge which fighter had done enough to lift the belt, but when the verdict was given the Kelham Hall Dome erupted.
The Newark Martial Arts centre had 9 fighters on the bill at the Dome and along with Regis there were wins for Lewis Fallon, Tom Willis, Micky Blackburn, Steve Salter and Grant Duller who knocked his opponent out cold in the white collar boxing event.
