NEWARK AND SHERWOOD HOMES PROMOTES SERVICES DUE TO THE ENGLISH CIVIL WAR

Each year a church service at Newark Parish Church is held with the Newark Business Club to celebrate Hercules Clay a local businessman from the times of the English Civil War.  He had a dream that his house was to be destroyed on three consecutive nights so had the wisdom to move his family from the house to safety the day before it was destroyed by fire after a cannon barrage.

A celebration gives local business an opportunity to promote their services something which Newark and Sherwood Homes are keen to undertake.

The Reverend Enever has allowed stands to be exhibited within the Parish Church.  Newark and Sherwood Homes has used this opportunity to promote some of its services to the public.  The display contains details of the New Build Local Authority Housing Programme, the Lifeline Support Services which are offered to not only its residents but also to the general public in need of care.  New technology is embraced that allows people to have call out pendants, flood and smoke alarms and motion detectors fitted and linked to a call centre to ensure that they receive the support that they need if they get into difficulty.

Also promoted is the Affordable Housing Properties offered by Newark and Sherwood Homes detailing how to apply for an affordable property within the district or by mutual exchange.

The display is located in Newark’s Parish Church St Mary Magdalene located in the town centre between the 1st and 8th March.

Newark and Sherwood Homes Chairman Ginette Hughes said: “It is an opportunity for the company to continue to promote the services it offers to the tenants of Newark and Sherwood Homes and the wider community.”
