A team of lifeguards at Southwell that helped to save a man’s life after he stopped breathing in a public swimming pool are to have their efforts recognised with the Swimming Teachers’ Association’s highest honour.

Tom Burrows, Liam Shaw, Mark Scutt and Duty Manager Lewis Parkin all played key roles in helping a male swimmer who got into difficulties in the water in September last year.

They were nominated by Southwell Leisure Centre’s on-site STA trainer, Antony Porter.
