Summary of the night

Newark took on a physical Paviors side on a foggy night at Kelham Road. The anticipation and volume levels in the changing room clearly indicated the squad’s excitement of a night game under the flood lights

Newark had the luxury of 26 players on the night allowing us to play 2 separate teams in each half.

The team got off to a flying start with 3 tries coming in the first half. The forwards were performing exceptionally well against a dogged Paviors side, winning scrums against the head, almost every lineout and ruck ball. The backs were getting fast ball courtesy of Jordan Slack, who had a great game at SH. The backs with good handling skills were moving the ball well. The coaches couldn’t ask for more…..The coaches changed the side at half time and with Paviors tiring Newark continued to put the pressure on Paviors resulting in 5 more tries. The score apart, the coaches appreciated seeing committed forwards, backs carrying out training ground moves using their initiative on the pitch and the set moves discussed in the changing rooms being adhered to. A great night for all concerned, a big thanks to the club for organising

Player of the night - Sam Butcher – Stepped up his game winning good loose ball and tackling well.
