National Cross country results

Doug Kelley had a record breaking run at the English National cross country championships, finishing in the highest ever position by a Newark athlete in the senior men’s race. It was a tough 12km course with heavy mud and conditions were extremely cold at the Roundhay Park venue in Leeds. Other highlights, at the premier cross country event on the domestic calendar, were excellent runs in various junior races by Charlotte Peach, Linton Taylor and Oliver Carrington. There was a good contingent of athletes across a range of age groups, although only two complete teams, something that can be worked to improve for next year.
