Unanimous win for Chad

Chad "2 Slick" Sugden opens his account with a unanimous win in Amateur Boxing. Chad travelled to West Bromich on Friday night to take on the much fancied Justin Mould from Black Country Boxing Club.

Chad started very patiently and looked like he was being a little lazy in the first round. This was Chad blowing of the cob webs as it was his first bout of the boxing season. The boxing season started in Oct 09 but Chad was embarking on becoming the Undisputed World Kickboxing Champion with 3 x World Titles and a Gold Medal at the World Games in Spain. This year he wants to concentrate on his Amateur Boxing until after the Junior ABA's which start at the end of March as well as doing well in his exams. So Chad will be back on to World Dominance and be looking to defend any challengers to his undisputed World Crown as the best Cadet (u18).

Chad's 3rd round was devastating as he totally broke his opponent down with blistering hand speed and angles. If there was any doubt after the first 2 rounds there was NONE after the 3rd. His opponent Justin with more wins than Chad going into this bout looked dejected as the result was announced. The unanimous winner Chad Sugden from Newark.

Chads cousin and club mate Fergus Taylor was involved in the best Amateur Contest I have ever seen. It was incredible to see 2 young men box to that intensity in a non championship bout. Fergie was the more experienced but you could tell that local boy was very powerful and confident as they came to the centre of the ring for final instructions. From the 1st second of the round 1 to the last second of the 3rd round punches with speed, accuracy and intensity were being thrown and landing.

The cheers from the locals started to switch to Fergus as the bout went on. Fergus showing the higher skill level and slightly better movement towards the end of the bout. But returning with the most ferocious punches seen for a long time.

The crowd at Tipton Sports & Social Club were on their feet at the end of the bout as both boxers recieved a standing ovation. Fergus was declared the unanimous winner and the crowd cheered. At the end of the nights boxing Fergus was awarded Fight of the Night. His style is very exciting and one which will transfer over to the professional circuit very well if he decides that is what he wants to do.
