Regiment to March in Newark and Southwell
Soldiers from the 2nd Battalion the Mercian Regiment will take to the streets for Freedom Marches next month.
The events follow a march in the city centre in December, when thousands of people lined the streets to cheer 450 soldiers.
Now the troops are taking part in seven more marches and will be in Newark on Tuesday March 16 in the morning and Southwell in the afternoon.
During the Mercians' latest six-month tour of Helmand Province five of their men were killed.
