Town celebrates Newark Day 2008

Hundreds of residents from Newark came to find out what the town has to offer on Sunday.

The third annual Newark Day took place on Sunday 4th of May in Newark Market Place and Newark Town Hall.

The day was offically opened by the Mayor of Newark Cllr Bryan Richardson from the Boundary Sound Stage, which provided the live entertainment on the day.

Over 50 organisations and groups showcased what they can offer residents including Nottinghamshire Fire Service and Police to The Friends of Newark Hospital and the Newark Amateur Operatic Society.

In the main arena the Ice Diamonds Xtream Cheerleaders and the Bujinkan Brian Dojo Ninjutsus showed what their groups do by performing in front of hundreds of residents.

There was also the chance for people to win tickets to this weekend Newark and Notts Show by playing a live version of Matt-Nav with Drive presenter Matt Colbourne.
