Body in river identified as missing man



Police are now able to formally identify the man's body found yesterday in the River Trent as Brian Junior Gibson, aged 20, of Yorke Drive, Newark.

Brian had been missing since Sunday 13 April when he was last seen close to the River Trent in Newark.

His family have been notified and have asked not to be contacted by the media today. They will be giving a media statement tomorrow through their Family Liaison Officer.

Detective Inspector Mel Bowden said "We are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Brian's death and the events leading up to it."
