(Back to news) Town Hall to light up marketNewark Town Hall is to be lit like Buckingham Palace thanks to money from the East Midlands Development Agency.The white lights will give the Town Hall a traditional illumination, and could be changeD at different times of the year, including Christmas. The cost of the installation would be £25,000, and will light the building all year at the cost of £2,500. The original plans includED lighting the whole of the Market Place, But the plans proved to be to costly.
