Mile long river side walk planned

Plans for a riverside walk in Newark are taking a financial a step closer.

The walk, which would be a mile long, would start at Mill Bridge and would take in some of the town’s biggest attractions including the Castle, and the Millennium Bridge.

At present the route of the walk is obstructed by Bradford Moor Scrap yard at the end of cow lane, by it is believed that the council hopes to find the money to finance the bill to move the yard, and make the land safe.

Council members hope that there would be progress in the next 12 – 15 months.
