Royal opening for new St John HQ

His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester officially opened the new St John Ambulance Headquarters in Newark this morning.

The £500,000 building is located close to the A1 and will provide up-to-date facilities for training people first aid.

The new building in Newark is the biggest investment in premises since St John acquired its headquarters in Nottingham, 27 years ago.

The Duke, who is the Grand Prior of the Order of St John, unveiled a plaque at the new HQ on Telford Drive, Newark.

A public open day will be held on Saturday the 19th and Sunday 20th of April between 9am and 5pm, and will give people the opportunity to see the new building, and to see what St John does in the area.
