(Back to news) Newark part of groups 75 year history![]() The Nottinghamshire Footpath Preservation Society has over eighty members, and was formed in March 1933. At the time of the groups formation, the Rights of Way act had just become law, and after they were formed, the group was determined to set about mapping the many paths across the county. In August of 1988, the group were walking in Newark, and found several silver coins, this event is classed as one of the groups biggest moments. The party to celebrate the mile stone will be held at Clipstone's Vicar Water Country Park, with Walkers crisps being walked down with wine.
