Ground Hoppers attempt record

The Newark area played host to a world record attempt by football fans known as ground hoppers.

On Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd March over 300 spectators attempted to watch 8 football matches in 48 hours.

During the event known as a Bonanza weekend, fans from as far away as Germany, Sweden and Australia visited Collingham and Flowserve as well as travelling to Ollerton, Southwell, Blidworth, Nettleham and Radcliffe.

The organisers, Central Midlands League, are waiting for a decision from Guinness to see if they have been successful.
