No name change for the Buttermarket

The Buttermarket shopping centre, Newark will keep its historic name after shoppers rejected a change.

Centre manager Martin Rendle representing the owners Targetfollow said: "Once we announced we were looking for a new name we received dozens of letters from people asking us to keep it the same.

"Reasons varied, but the general opinion was a change of name would result in the loss of identity and a recognisable landmark within the town."
