The day included Security Awareness from SAS Experts who will be covering a variety of situations including: Staying safe whilst travelling late at night, Staying safe whilst home alone, Travelling safely in taxis/ public transport, Using cash machines, How to safely carry bags/handbag, How to make any room safe for 99p, How to drive with security in mind, How to detect if you are being followed, Why a phone is one of the best security aids.

Upton Hall, Upton, Nr Southwell

With lovely weather and no England game to worry about, why not come along to a classic summer village fete at Upton, near Southwell.

Set in the beautiful grounds of Upton Hall, home of the British Horological Institute, this hugely popular fete has fun and games for all the family.
Try your hand at Welly Wanging, or skittles, or Gladiators, or Splat the Rat, or simply getting egg on your face in the public stocks.

There are races for all ages, pet competitions, a tug-of-war, lots of interesting stalls and crafts, a tea tent, a bar and barbecue, all accompanied by the wonderful music of the Newark & Sherwood Concert Band. Forget the footie and come to the fete! It's what England does best!
