26th Newark Half MarathonSunday 12th August saw the 26th running of the annual Newark Half Marathon. The 13mile course, that covers Newark town centre, Balderton and Coddington, was ran in 25c heat, in just over a hour. This year over 800 competitors took part in the marathon, that has become one of countries most popular half marathons, with runners from across the UK.  Runner prepare for the 13 mile run around Newark  Hundreds of family and friends came along for support  Runners warmed up at the start line outside the towns former police station on Appletongate  Preparing for the start of the race  Mayor Cllr Bryan Richardson, and marathon organiser Ray Straetton start the runners on their way  Over 800 runners filed past the crowds at the start  Runners crossing the start line  If you didnt fancy the 13 miles, the fun run was only 2.5miles  Over one hundred people took part in the fun run  First to cross the line Billy Farquharson in 1hr 10mins  More runners cross the finishing line
