Unvailing of the Queens Jubilee Arch

The official unveiling of the Queens Jubilee Arch took place on Tuesday 31st july 2007 in Beaumond Gardens.

The arch was officially unveiled by Sir Andrew Buchanan, Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, along with Town Mayor Cllr Bryan Richardson.

The arch incorporates different aspects of Newark, including the River Trent,
The A1 Great North Road, and railways, as well as the Civil War and industries


Around a hundred people turn up to see the unveiling by Sir Buchanan
